Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt Free EatingDo you want to eat burgers, Chocolate cake, frozen margaritas, and French fries and still maintain your weight? Is life not worth living without brownies and onion rings? Are you looking for a way to tame your cravings? Hungry Girl recipes taste great, but are low in fat and calories. Check it out!

Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World provides low-calorie versions of popular foods as well as tips to help you make smart food choices anywhere, anytime. With easy instructions, simple steps, and hilariously fun facts and figures, Hungry Girl recipes are as fun to read as they are to make! She’s not a nutritionist, she’s just hungry.

Here are just a few examples:

• Eggs Bene-Chick: 183 calories
• Bring on the Breakfast Pizza: 127 calories
• Ooey Gooey Chili Cheese Nachos: 216 calories
• Big Bopper Burger Stopper: 202 calories
• Dreamy Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge: 65 calories
• Lord of the Onion Rings: 153 calories
• Rockin’ Tuna Melt: 212 calories
• 7-Layer Burrito Blitz: 277 calories

There are lots of extras. Each recipe lists the calories, grams of fat, sodium, carbs, fiber, sugars and protein, and the front of the book has a long list of recommended name-brand products to use for ingredients. Many recipes include Fun Facts (for example, Chocolate syrup was used to represent blood in the famous “Psycho” shower scene) or what the author calls Happy Girl Shockers, trivia tidbits throughout the book. Did you know that Taco Bell’s Fiesta Taco SALAD has a whopping 840 calories?

The recipes are easy to prepare, they taste unexpectedly GREAT and you can leave your meal table without guilt. Hungry Girl is also endorsed by Weight Watchers and so all the recipes have their points value available online.

Lastly, and most importantly for a lot of people, none of the recipes in this book are overly complex or require lots of crazy ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the obvious effort put into it. There’s something for everyone it its pages. If you’re looking for fancy, formal recipes you’ve definitely come to the wrong place. This book is filled with simple, fun, easy recipes that use lots of packaged foods and shortcuts to make great-tasting guilt-free snacks and meals. If you aspire to be a gourmet chef, there are more appropriate books out there for you. Her enthusiasm throughout the book gives a fun feeling to the recipes which is very refreshing.
